After beginning learning the guitar at a young age in Drôme with Gilles Gogniat, Gabriel Dubois started his music studies in Lyon. First in the class of the guitarist Jesus Castro-Balbi at Lyon Regional Conservatory where he passed his music diploma (DEM), then at Louis Lumière University in Lyon where he started studying musicology. Thus achieving instrumental studies as well as more theoretical and complementary studies.
In 2015 he entered Brussels Royal Conservatory in the class of the guitarist Hugues Navez where he passed a Bachelor and then a Master diploma in classical guitar which he obtained with « the highest distinction ».
During this period, he attended masterclasses with famous guitarists such as Marco Tamayo, Laurent Blanquart, Thibaut Garcia, Frédéric Zigante, Anna Vidovic, Johan Fostier, Paul Galbraith and Antonio Segura…
He regularly performs at concerts in different places (chateaux, cultural places, chapels, concert halls, museums…) in Belgium and France in particular, as a soloist, in chamber music ensemble or guitar orchestra.
His diverse musical repertoire extends from renaissance music to the most contemporary creations, through baroque, Spanish or Latin music.
He also regularly makes transcriptions of musical works for the guitar.
Currently he has started studying for a second master degree in musicology at Louis Lumière University in Lyon in order to improve his theoretical skills which he wishes to combine with the practice of his instrument. Besides, he teaches the guitar in private tuitions and in music school.
